Relevant Projects
Client: City and County of San Francisco, CA
Development and implementation of the Energy Program and Climate Action Plan. She is providing professional sustainability services in the areas of regulations and policy, comprehensive energy/GHG reduction, community outreach marketing, and training of the City’s home improvement sector. The new programs and energy efficiency incentives in development are building upon current efforts seen in San Francisco. This includes such programs as Energy Watch, which incentivizes energy efficiency in buildings, transit alternatives, alternative vehicle fuels, and generating electricity with renewable energy to achieve the City’s goals of energy self-reliance, improved air quality, and the reduction of greenhouse gases by 20 percent below the 1990 levels.
Client: City of Santa Cruz, CA
Implementation Plan for the City’s General Plan 2030. As with any complex organization, the City has thousands of social, ecological and financial operations being carried out and decisions being made each day, under the auspices of various plans simultaneously being implemented by different city departments. The Implementation Plan and suite of metrics Paladin is developing for the City integrates the various plans (Economic Development and Redevelopment, Climate Action, and General Plan), for the overall optimization of community well-being, economic health, and protection of environmental resources. By illuminating how much of which impacts are occurring, this project is aiding Santa Cruz in working across silos in order to achieve its most desired outcomes and vision, and to operate in compliance with AB32 and SB375.
Client: Sustainable San Mateo County
September 2008 – April 2009
Managed the development of an online sustainability hub for Sustainable San Mateo County, with the support of the Center for Sustainability at Dominican University of California, and Earthsite, a new media agency specializing in green and social web 2.0 development. The hub was designed to get San Mateo County citizens engaged with the human, social, and natural capital Indicator Report (www.sustainabilityhub.net/2009-indicators). This project built the capacity for citizens, businesses, and civic leaders from all sectors of San Mateo to make sustainable progress through informed action.
Client: Fort Baker Leadership Summits
Green Your Management, WELL Network, and partners brought together more than forty leaders from business, government, nonprofit organizations, and foundations for a series of summits known as the Fort Baker Leadership Summits. Participants developed a vision, set of guiding principles, and priority initiatives as the basis for forthcoming recommendations to state policymakers for addressing California's sustainability. With lead facilitator Bruce McKenzie, Ms. Parriott facilitated various industries, government and social profit organizations through a systemic process in order to co-design an integrated plan for a sustainable future for California. Ms. Parriott contributed to strategy and planning of the Summits, as well as the research and drafting of several reports on topics ranging from water, waste, energy, climate change, environmental health, leadership and equity in California. The resulting reports were influential in legislative debates both in California and Washington D.C.
Client: Traditional Medicinals
Ms. Parriott conducted a full carbon audit for a medicinal tea factory, Traditional Medicinals. The audit included the entire supply chain including the sourcing and transport of teas and herbs coming from as far as India, China, and Africa. The project team calculated a baseline of carbon emissions generated from their California factory operations and supply chain transport. A subsequent GHG reduction strategy was implemented, making Traditional Medicinals a carbon neutral enterprise.
